How To Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Croissants
This recipe may look like fancy French cuisine but it’s one of the laziest recipes I’ve ever made! I kid you not when I say this is my family’s new favorite dessert. It’s so easy to make, my kids can do it themselves! If you’re looking for a fun recipe to make with kids, Cookie Croissants are the best!
Slice, Stuff and Bake – this dessert recipe is basically that easy!
Start by cutting the croissants in half. Scoop 2-3 tablespoons of cookie dough onto the inside of the croissant and flatten with your fingers.
Close the croissant and top with another 1-2 tablespoons of cookie dough. Again, press the cookie dough into the croissant to flatten. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-16 minutes until the top of the cookie dough is golden brown and the croissant is toasted to perfection! Let cool 10 minutes and then enjoy the most amazing thing you’ll ever put in your mouth!
My kids love this recipe so much. I think these cookie croissants are even better the next day. The outside is crispy and flaky and the inside is gooey and delicious. The perfect comfort food for kids and adults! You won’t be able to eat just one of this must try dessert!
Helpful Tips and Variations
- Use premade or homemade cookie dough. If using homemade cookie dough you may need to adjust the bake time slightly per your recipe.
- Try adding 1 cup of nuts to your cookie dough before adding to the croissants. Walnuts, pecans, and macadamia nuts are my favorite!
- Pillsbury canned crescent rolls would also be delicious to use in this recipe. Make sure to bake the croissants per the package instructions first, then slice and add the cookie dough.
- Switch up the type of cookie dough you use in the yummy recipe. Try sugar, snickerdoodle, or even M&M cookie dough to make this recipe even more kid friendly!
- Make a thick boxed brownie batter and spoon it inside and on top of the croissant for Brownie Croissants (my mouth is watering as I write this! I can’t wait to try this variation of my favorite sweet treat.)
