Supplies Needed

How To Make Pipe Cleaner Snails

Step 1: Begin with 2 of the same color pipe cleaners. Curl the top of each pipe cleaner like a spiral 2 to 3 times. This is where the eyes will go! Then twist the pipe cleaners together about 2 inches from the top and twist them all the way down.

Step 2: Find a pen or pencil and tightly wrap the final pipe cleaner around it. Slide your curled pipe cleaner off the end of the pencil. 

This easy pipe cleaner craft is so fun for kids. Using just 3 pipe cleaners and some google eyes your kids can make cute fuzzy snails.

Step 3: Slide the wrapped pipe cleaner from step 2 onto the end of the pipe cleaners from step 1 up to spot where the two pipe cleaners are twisted together {see picture below}.

Step 4: Tightly curl the end of the pipe cleaner into a spiral. This is the snail’s shell!

If you’d like to help your snail stand up more easily, grab a green pipe cleaner and bend it back and forth to make a base that looks like grass. You can glue your snail onto the grass base if you’d like or simply set it on there during playtime.
