Recycle an empty paper towel roll into a fun and easy letter matching activity for preschoolers!

If you’re looking for a quick and easy low prep activity for toddlers and preschoolers then this one is it! Plus, you know how much I love using dot stickers in my daughter’s learning activities. So this ABC Sticker Match literacy game is totally up my alley. All you need are a few cheap supplies you already have at home and you can create an engage game for kids that helps with letter identification.

Materials Needed

Thankfully this is one of those activities that requires very little effort to set up! 

  • Empty paper roll (paper towel, toilet paper, or even and empty wrapping paper roll will work)
  • Dot Stickers
  • Marker

How To Make ABC Sticker Match

Set up is so easy. Start by writing all uppercase letters on the paper towel roll. You can choose to work on the whole alphabet (like I did) or focus on a few letters that your child needs a little extra practice with (Gg, Qq, Rr). Write the corresponding lowercase letters on your dot stickers.

Now it’s time to learn! Have your kiddo match the lowercase dot stickers to the right uppercase letter written on the paper roll. ABC sticker match not only helps with letter recognition but also fine motors skills. You know I love a good fine motor activity.

Stay close to your little one during this fun activity just incase they have any questions. And if your child isn’t ready to match upper and lower case letters then focus on only uppercase OR lowercase by writing the same on both the paper roll and the stickers.
